Jake Hann (BSc)

Managing Director

Jake has been heading the management of the company for over 5 years. Prior to this, he gained valuable experience working in Christchurch then abroad in Canada, USA and UK on various levels of construction projects. Complementing this experience, he studied at the University of Canterbury obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in economics. His skills and experience enable Jake to manage contracts effectively, implement innovative systems and ultimately move the company forward.

He is closely involved in the day to day running of the company alongside Tim Parish. His attention to detail, ability to develop relationships and open communication style are real assets.

Jake has overseen successful construction projects including new commercial builds, residential projects, and numerous school developments for Ministry of Education and The Catholic Diocese of Christchurch.

Tim Parish

Manager

Tim manages the daily site operations of Hann Construction Company Ltd. He has been with the company for 18 years and has delivered numerous successful projects during that time. A highly skilled carpenter with over 20 years’ construction industry experience, Tim’s responsibilities include sourcing labour and resources for all Hann Construction developments.

Utilising his considerable project management expertise, Tim ensures the smooth progression of our projects. He visits sites regularly and has a talent for getting the best from his teams and the resources at his disposal. The results are obvious in the quality of workmanship and the consistency with which all Hann Construction projects are completed on time and to budget.

He is proficient in the coordination of sub-trades and is well respected by sub-contractors ensuring he gets exceptional performance from them. One of his best abilities is his forward thinking and planning of a project. This ensures the construction process runs smoothly without any delays. His in-depth construction knowledge allows him to come up with innovative solutions and answer any questions that the Clients, carpenters or subcontractors may have along the way.

Sam Mills BSc (Hons), MCom

Financial Manager

Sam joined the Hann Construction office in 2011. He brings to the company a wealth of Financial Management and Strategic Planning skills.

Sam completed a Master of Commerce (Economics) at the University of Canterbury. His intelligence, dedication and attention to detail will sharpen the financial and compliance systems already in place at Hann Construction.

He is a real asset to our office providing some good banter and debate on topical issues.

Mike Hann

Founder of HannGroup

Mike Hann has worked in the construction industry for more than three decades and is known and respected for his personal integrity and the honest, ethical way he conducts his business dealings.  These values have seen Mike and his companies flourish in a highly competitive industry for well over 20 years.

Having worked as a carpenter for many years, Mike has considerable trade experience, plus a wealth of valuable professional expertise from working directly with industry suppliers, co-contractors, local authorities and clients.  He also has enormous vision and drive – attributes that have enabled him to develop ideas into successful businesses, to see and capitalise on opportunities, and to provide employment and apprenticeships for numerous trade professionals.

Mike measures HannGroup’s success by the consistently positive feedback we receive from clients and the repeat business HannGroup enjoys.

Jason Webster - Qualified Carpenter (LBP)

Project Manager / Foreman

Jason began his career nearly 15 years ago with Hann Construction as an apprentice. He has worked his way up qualifying as a carpenter, then being promoted to foreman and now as an onsite project manager. He has a great ability to build relationships with staff and subcontractors and therefore gets consistent, quality results from them. He manages projects effectively with excellent communication with the client as well as with colleagues. His ability to guide and supervise apprentices enables the continued development of staff and promotes quality workmanship on site.

Some of Jason's recently completed projects include: Halswell Residential College Redevelopment, Park Lane Retirement Village Stages 2 + 3, Kidsfirst Kindergarten Rolleston and Lincoln Primary School Redevelopment.

Daniel Lindsay - Qualified Carpenter

Project Manager / Foreman

Daniel is an experienced leader and a highly skilled carpenter who has been with Hann Construction since 2006. Rising through the ranks he has become one of our leading onsite project managers. He has excellent organisation skills and will manage your project with remarkable diligence. His exceptional ability to forward plan results in a coordinated  build that is completed with minimal delays and to a very high quality. He is genuinely respected within the industry and by his colleagues for his hard work and integrity. Daniel has a broad range of experience having been involved in projects within the commercial, educational and residential sectors.

Some of his recent projects include: Chinese Methodist Church Rebuild, Elmswood Retirement Village Hospital Care Building, Somerfield School Redevelopment and St Martins School.

Dean Macken

Dean began with Hann Construction in 2011 as a carpenter. He has recently been involved with a variety of school projects as well as the beautiful restoration of a heritage villa in the city centre. He has worked his way up the ranks and is now a valuable, trusted Site Foreman. His strengths include excellent leadership skills shown by the respect the younger team members have for him and his fantastic rapport with subcontractors, suppliers and clients.

Some of Dean's recent projects include: St Albans Uniting Parish, Peterborough Street Villa Restoration, Hornby Primary School and Spreydon School re-roof.

Patrick (PJ) Convery

PJ joined the Hann Construction team in 2011 as a carpenter. He has a high level of enthusiasm and takes ownership of every job that he undertakes. With this type of attitude, he gets excellent response from the subcontractors who work well under him and appreciate the level of communication. He is an experienced 2nd fix carpenter and has shown a high level of workmanship. He leads by example and builds relationships with team members enabling training and professional development of staff on site as well as promoting quality workmanship.

Some of PJ's recently completed projects include: Kirwee School, Te Waka Unua School Stage 1 and St Mary's School 5th Classroom.
