Child Adolescent and Family Mental Health Outpatient Facility

Hann Construction were proud to be involved with the dramatic transformation of a new mental health facility in Christchurch. Formerly a laundry services building on the Hillmorton Hospital campus, the building was repurposed to become an outpatient facility for children and youth. Kahurangi was completed in November 2024 after first structural strengthening and then a detailed fitout including the creation of all new internal spaces and new services throughout. Collaboration was strong on the project team who were all involved from start to finish, including Client representatives from Health NZ, the Architects, QS and all consultants. 

The modern looking building now includes physio treatment spaces, sensory rooms, observation spaces, various therapy rooms, whanau room as well as staff offices and amenities. 

The team at Hann are pleased with the result and happy to have been involved in the creation of this facility to help the community.
