Halswell Residential College

A significant 10 month project was completed at Halswell Residential College to modernise and uplift the campus. It involved the construction of 4 new purpose built Residential Villas as well as a new Multi-Purpose Learning Environment. This is a unique school environment with the students living onsite 24-7 so required special security and safety features incorporated into the buildings as well as specific, vigilant practices to ensure health and safety during construction.

Alongside the new builds, we also completed structural strengthening of existing buildings and demolition of redundant Blocks. High quality joinery was fabricated and installed with precision by the team now operating as Aspen Joinery. 

A collaborative relationship was established and maintained for the duration of the project between Hann Construction and the MOE, the Design team, the School Representatives and other consultants. 

Completion of works was managed within the operating school environment with demolition and other disruptive work completed during the school holidays. The redevelopment was completed to a high-quality finish and within the expected timeframe allowing the new buildings to be utilised for the first term of 2017.
