Oaklands School Redevelopment

A significant development at Oaklands School has now been completed. Work began in early 2019 and was split into three stages.

Stage 1 included asbestos removal, demolition of redundant blocks and the new build of Block 28 a new Administration, Office and Staffroom facility as well as Block 29 with Teaching spaces and a new Library. Photos of these blocks are included, some of the features include:

• Exposed laminated structural timber portals
• Rooflights providing natural light into the spaces
• Large glazed internal framing to create spacious feel while providing privacy
• New custom built-in joinery including Reception Counter, New Kitchenettes and bench seating
• Landscaped areas to create usable outdoor learning spaces

Stages 2 and 3 involved the total refurbishment of six existing buildings including the School Hall. This included structural steel work, new cladding, aluminium joinery and service upgrades as well as painting, floorcoverings and joinery. New hardcourts, landscaping elements and siteworks were also completed.
