Hann Construction worked with the Catholic Diocese and WSP Opus on the redevelopment of Sacred Heart School. The early stages involved the demolition of the redundant pool and changing shed to enable space to be created for the new classroom block.
The new classrooms are all interconnected and installed in a single row which creates a nice boundary along the stream and reserve side, while creating a small seating area to watch the hard court activities from.
Following completion of the new classrooms and formation of the new hard court area, we demolished a large existing block that sat right through the middle of the school. Removal of this old block allowed the whole school site to open up. We also constructed a new central toilet block and feature landscaping areas to tie these spaces together and provide a softened touch from the hard surfaces.
The site redevelopment was staged and took over 12 months with the completed project resulting in a modernised, better connected school site.
