Braemar Apartments, Cranmer Square

Hann Construction were engaged at an early stage to work with the Body Corporate and the Project Manager, Brent Saunders, to assist on the design and scope development of this repair and strengthening project on an existing apartment block on Cranmer Square. This early contractor involvement decision was made to enable better handling and delivery of the budget while ensuring a high-quality result would be obtained.

The building was relevelled using an injected grout system. We strengthened the existing apartment blocks using new shotcrete walls, structural steel, new concrete floor infills, epoxy injection to all concrete works and new fixing and bracing elements installed throughout.

The works provided an opportunity to upgrade and modernise the entire complex and all apartments.

• A repaint of all surfaces was completed
• New metal cladding installed to highlight the existing structure
• All lobbies were refreshed with new wall-paper and dark oak entry doors
• New tiling to all areas including balconies and lobbies
• New glazing throughout

Several apartment owners chose to upgrade their electrical and plumbing fittings, so bathrooms and kitchen areas were completely remodelled. A new key fob access system was installed throughout and we wired the whole complex with new fibre and data outlets including a hard wired MATV system.
